About Peggy

I am currently a senior at UC Berkeley and I have a passion for tutoring. I previously taught children ages 2-12 math and English for two years at a learning center so I have prior experience in tutoring and am patient. Furthermore, I have been accepted into every university I applied to and was the chosen UC Regent Scholar for UCI. In my spare time, I've helped college students with their admissions essays and have helped them prepare the essays that have gotten them into schools such as UCI, UCLA, UCSD, and UC Berkeley. I've presented my writing at research conferences and have written for graduate divisions such as Berkeley's I School.

I enjoy making students enjoy the process of writing. Oftentimes, writing can be seen as a daunting task with no end in-sight. I strive to alleviate the stress students, especially those gearing up for college and university, face and to help them fall in love with academia.

I first started tutoring my classmates in elementary school. I found a love of reading and writing as a young child and sought to instill the same passion with my peers. This led me to seek a professional job at Kumon Learning Center during my teen years. Working with young children instilled skills such as patience and empathy into my work. Now, more than a decade later, I continue to help my peers and fellow college and high school students understand core concepts of writing and reading.



I've previously worked at a tutoring center helping kids of all ages with their math and English skills. I've been tutoring classmates in writing and English since elementary school and continue to find passion in doing so as I gear up to graduate from UC Berkeley this year.

I would first like to get to know the student more and their interests. Then, I would like to observe their work to see where they struggle the most. Afterward I would create practice problems/activities to help them understand and grasp the core of the subject. These activities will depend on what type of learner the student is(visual,auditory, etc.), but I will try to get the students to utiliz their left and right brain hemispheres as to grasp a full understanding. 



I have worked with children ages 2-12  in forms of elementary math and reading.I've also worked with high school and college kids by helping them with college admissions.
