About Sarah
Visiting the Museum of Science and Industry as a kid, I was dazzled at the complexity of science and technology. My hope is to encourage students that they too can make an impact. I want to inspire my students to see that, with a little work, they could be the next space suit designer, next pioneer in green energy, or creator of the next vaccine.
I graduated from Westmont College (2020) with a Chemistry B.S. and Biology B.A. I worked as a Teacher's Assistant for four semesters in chemistry labs during my time there. I earned the NAIA Scholar Athlete award for maintaning a GPA above 3.5 as a student athlete and the Golden Eagle Scholar Athlete award given to one member from each athletic team.
I have experience with younger children from my two summers working as a summer camp counselor and from volunteering with the Santa Barbara Youth Track Club.
My favorite part of tutoring is the moment where a student's face lights up because they understand or have figured out how to tackle a problem. I love the chance to encourage a student and work one-on-one with them in a way where I help them figure out answers on their own.
