About Eitan
Eitan Rothberg has been tutoring and teaching for six years. He has taught students of ages 5-22. His weekly schedule involves leading a K/1 Hebrew School class on Sunday mornings, followed by delivering a virtual presentation on Tuesday afternoons to graduate students, post-docs, and professors at MIT and John Hopkins.
Eitan's favorite activity to teach is chess, though he is passionate about sharing his love for math and computer science as well.
Eitan scored a 35 on his ACT, is ranked in the top .5% of over 2 million active players on chess.com, and is a recipient of the Goldwater Scholarship, the nation's most prestigious undergraduate STEM award.
Eitan believes that good teaching starts by fostering an appreciation for the beauty of the material/discipline.
I've been tutoring for six years. I've taught classrooms, small groups, and done one-on-one tutoring. I received formal training from the Ohio State Math and Statistics Learning Center.

I always start by getting to know the student: what they like about the subject, how they think the subject might be applicable to their life/future, and what their goals are for the tutoring sessions. Then, I like to give them a brief assessment to see how best I can help.
