About Joseph

After struggling with math in grade school and high school, I started to excel in college. The difference was a good teacher. I tutored my three children from K-12 and found so many concepts that were not transferred to the students by the teachers. I want to help today's youth understand the value of mathematics.

I've worked with "customers “my whole career. Whether it be the boss, another department, or external suppliers. Providing the correct information in a timely fashion to your customers not only keeps the dialog open but prevents surprises.

My teaching career started as soon as I graduated. I began by teaching the Right-to-Know laws and regulations (Hazard Communication) that affected the industrial world. When I moved on in my career, I ended up teaching people about computers, programmable controls, SQC, and other necessary training required in the workplace.

I have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. I have trained adults on the following subjects: robot programming, welding, statistical quality control, new model procedure, data acquisition and processing.

About the lesson

Establish rapport and guidelines. Access strengths and weaknesses. Obtain mutual understanding the goal of tutoring.

Up to this point, I have worked mainly with adults with a high school education. Not discounting my personal tutoring of my children.

Address your weaknesses, honestly! Decide on a goal (ie a letter grade improvement, good score on a standardized test, etc.) Find someone (tutor) who can help you achieve your goal.

I recently spent several weeks in Northern Ontario, going back to basics, no cell phone, no wi-fi, no electric. The experience was enhanced by meeting people who could help me in my journey.
