About Shreyas
I love teaching each other students. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses. Mine happens to be math and something I am passionate about.
I am currently a (concealed information) TA where I teach underprivileged students about the foundations of computer programming. I am also a part of the Study Buddy Society, where I help middle and high school students in their school curriculum, specifically in math, science, and language arts.
Here is my Linkedin for some information about me:

I enjoy helping other students. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses and so the skills that I am proficient at, are things that I want to relay to others.
Ever since I was in middle school, I looked for opportunities to teach. I like teaching because it is something that has helped me tremendously along my journey as a student.
I have been a Study Buddy Society tutor, where this same philosophy I have explained above has really helped my mentees understand how to approach a problem. For math, especially, I have come to see that doing various types of problems is very good for students. Simply, teaching them what they need help in only goes so far.
I have also been a (concealed information) TA, where I teach students about about programming, but I ensure that they also have time to practice on their own, with me first explaining and going over the key concept.

I like to first gauge where the student is at. If the student has a particular question, I want to see what the student understands and what they are confused about. Then I like to write a similar question that shares the same concept as the one they asked and go through the steps with them. I would like them to ask as many questions as they have. Then they can answer the problem they asked me for help. This way I am creating an environment where I teach, but where they also get to solve the problem.
I have worked with students from all walks of life: disadvantaged, more well-off, from anyone in between.
Make sure your teacher is very patient and personable, where you do not feel intimidated to ask more questions. There is nothing wrong with asking for help. You get smarter and understand better.
One of my students I was teaching was struggling to grasp solving quadratic equations. I went over everything I thought was possible: using the quadratic formula, factoring, and completing the square, but nothing worked. She told me that she learned better through drawing, but I did not know how to implement this while teaching this. So I came up with a way where she could draw squares and divide the square into 4 pieces: 2 for the factors, 1 for the sum, and 1 for the product. This way she could check if the factors worked out to the quadratic equation.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
As long as you are not disrespectful or rude, teachers are willing to talk to students about their needs.

I really like how I can work at my own pace. I have a very personalized learning experience contrary to how I felt at school. I like how when I need to work on some particular type of problem, Shreyas makes them up.
