About Conner
Math is by far my favorite subject. I love numbers and complex problems. I am the Student of the Year in Calculus and Statistics in high school. And I think anybody can learn how to solve any problem, with enough patience and enough heart.
I started teaching when in high school. I found by teaching others I could better retain my knowledge.
I have tutored, specifically in trigonometry, calculus, statistics, accounting, and in data analysis, from high school to grad school.

1. Ask what their goals are with a subject (what do they want on a test? what final grade do they want?)
2. What are they struggling with?
3. I will demonstrate how to do one problem
4. I will let the student do the next problem and we discuss the correct or incorrect aspects of solution
5. Then we repeat with a new problem
High schoolers (in upper teens) to undergrads (early 20s) to grad students (late 30s)
I would tell him that finding the perfect tutor isn't about age, years of experience, or specialty. It comes down to, is this guy's teaching style the right for me. You can have a veteran teacher in which the student still struggles to learn. That's why, for me, its important to figure out where the student struggles and what teaching method will help solve the problem.
In grad school, a lot of my classmates weren't comfortable with complex mathematics. Before the final exam, I made a study guide to help teach my classmates. One of them came up to me afterwards and told me he wouldn't have done as well on it without my guide.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. Up to what point do I understand the class or problem perfectly? As in, at what point does the teacher lose me?
2. Can the teacher realistically help with their needs in a convenient way? As in, can a teacher get a student from a D to an A in an hour? No
3. Do I want to really get better at addressing my needs? Am I willing to put the work in?

I do not. But I'd prefer an hourly rate, which is based on the reviews my past students have given me.
