About Johnathan
Hi there! I'm Johnny! I live in southeast Michigan and have a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics from Eastern Michigan University. I have taken and passed the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification for Secondary Mathematics. I started tutoring math in college seven years ago, and since then, I've worked as a math interventionist in elementary, middle, and high school.
I've been working with kids and young adults for years, and I've loved helping to develop their skills. Being able to guide a student toward understanding, when they reach the "aha!" moments has been incredibly rewarding.
BS in Mathematics with a minor in Chemistry from EMU
7 years of math tutoring and intervention experience in classroom, small group, and individual settings.

After getting to know a little bit about the student, I like to ask them about exactly where they feel they are struggling. I then go about doing some diagnostics that gradually increase in difficulty to see if the problem is really where they believe it to be, or if they are struggling with some earlier part of the process.
