About Eric
I am a graduating senior in high school with a perfect 800 on the SAT Math 2 Subject Test, the highest performer in my school on the most recent AMC 12 test, and 3 years of experience in math tutoring. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, I'm spending less time in school, so I wanted to help people whose education may have been disrupted because of the outbreak or who just need help on mathematics in general. I work best with middle school, high school, and, on occasion, college students learning Pre-Algebra, Algebra I or II, Geometry, Pre-calculus, Trigonometry, Calculus AB and BC, or Calculus I. I would prefer to be a supplemental supporter of a pre-existing curriculum, but I can structure lesson plans myself if necessary. I will be available through the end of April on some weekends, and Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays after 4 pm.
I really enjoy myself when I'm walking people through examples and helping them less and less as they grasp concepts that I teach. The reason I began tutoring was because my classmates told me I explain concepts better than my teachers. I have also been tutored in other subjects, so I know how to avoid condescending behavior while still ensuring that my progress is made.
While I have tutored students for more than 3 years, I do not have a teaching or mathematics degree of any kind. I am a graduating senior in high school.
