About John
Quick Tutors was established to help students with learning disabilities get help in sciences, math, and engineering. Since 2014, I have been tutoring students one-on-one, designing assessments to fit their needs and accomplish their goals. I am currently a PhD student studying chemical and biological engineering, focused on plastics processing. I have a bachelors in chemical engineering and a second bachelors in industrial biotechnology from the UPR-Mayaguez. Feel free to ask me about my services!
My partner Leonardo Gonzalez is specialized in math tutoring. He is a PhD student working on Machine Learning algorithms.
We are both fluent in English and Spanish.

I get enjoyment around seeing my students asking questions, accomplishing their goals, and being happy with their progress. Nothing is better than seeing a student overcome a difficult barrier.
I began teaching as a paid tutor at my undergraduate university and decided to take education courses to help foster techniques that would allow me to help tackle students' needs during tutoring.
I have over 5 years of experiende tutoring undergraduate college students and 1 year of experience as a high school instructor in Life Sciences. I have taken various seminars and courses in educational philosophy to supplement teaching techniques.

When working with a new student, my preferred method is to assess their understanding of the material through testing and dialogue. Example problems are given to allow the student to formulate doubts and ask questions, so that I may identify problem areas and proceed to establish the necessary tools to overcome those problems.
When looking to hire a teacher or tutor, focus on your needs as a student, their dedication to your learning, their capacity to dedicate time to your needs, and their ability to reduce problems and guide your way of thinking.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
One should ask themselves, what am I having problems on? What is stopping me from understanding this material? Is there a fundamental piece of information that I am missing or do I not have the tools necessary to critically tackle the problem?

John was simply amazing. He took the time to get to know me and my learning styles as well as the reasons I was having difficulties. He is very knowledgeable in various fields and will definitely be looking for his help in the future, if needed. 100% recommend him and his expertise.
John is fully committed with my learning. I really appreciate his explanations. He sends me notes with calculations and a completely description on its, so I can read it by my own and understand perfectly. His lessons have been a great input to my engineering courses right now. At the end of the lessons he always asks me if I have any doubt so he can teach me using another method. I always finish the lessons pleased and with a lot of new knowledge and skills.
An excellent tutor. I hired him to help me with undergraduate Chemistry and Biology. He is knowledgeable, patient, and very responsive. He takes time to walk me through key steps of problems and identify important information to reach solutions.
Excellent to talk to and understand. Helped by picking my brain helping us both understand the thinking behind my work making it easier to tackle new problems
