About Andrew

I have a PhD in mathematics. I taught mathematics for 6 years at the University of Oregon, and I have been a professional tutor for three years at Western Washington University. I consistently receive outstanding teaching reviews and have won a teaching award. I enjoy connecting with students and helping them reach clarity and understanding with mathematics.

I can tutor math from high school algebra all the way to upper-division college math courses. Also available for test prep.

Part of my PhD program in math involved teaching university mathematics courses.

I have 6 years of math teaching experience, and 3 years of professional math tutoring experience. I also am a mathematics PhD from the University of Oregon.

About the lesson

First, I figure out specific areas the student is struggling in. This usually looks like asking questions to gain a sense of the student's understanding and background in math. The goal in this stage is to fill in missing skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their current studies.
