About Vladislav
Many other educators on here have already graduated and forgotten the innate (but unintuitive) skills needed to do well on school assignments and college courses. They might be able to explain the information you are learning or answer your homework problems, but they will not be able to make you comfortable with resources, tactics, and habits that will actually make you successful on your next assessment. My goal is to provide both of these services to the student, so that they learn not only the information but how to learn and study for themselves. From my five-year experience tutoring and studying, this is what forges one into a successful student.
I am a successful college senior in Biomedical Engineering and researcher in the field with several publications. My major curriculum consists of Biomedical, Electrical, Chemical, and Mechanical engineering courses, as well as all first and second-level science courses, and higher-level mathematics (Differential Equations and Linear Algebra). I also completed prerequisite courses for application to medical school: Psychology, Sociology, Organic Chemistry I and II, and others. If you are a premedical or science student -- my engineering background will permit me to explain to you not only the facts of your courses -- but also why they are as they are, and how they were arrived at. My experience in “wet,” analytical, and computer laboratories is extensive, and I would really enjoy sharing it with you.
My complete profile is readily available on LinkedIn. Still, should you need any additional clarification on my background or general course advice please do not hesitate to reach out! I can instruct through Zoom, Skype, or in-person within Manhattan, Bronx, and Queens depending on proximity to Washington Heights.
As an NYC public school and CUNY student, I value every opportunity I get to help others like myself improve their grades in college courses or school classes. By keeping my rates affordable -- I can assist students who are having to work part time or care for older relatives, and who might not have much disposable income for tutors. Hence, also, I try to teach strategies students could use to help themselves do better, instead of just explaining a concept, solving some problems, and charging you for the hours spent. However, sometimes the former is what a student needs, and I will happily provide such instruction, also. Regardless of what type of help you might need, I consider it a major success when you no longer need my assistance, because you will have received that “A” due to your own efforts and my occasional assistance. Hope to speak to you soon, and if not, then best of luck to you, anyways!
I first got into tutoring students five years ago in test preparation for the SAT and TOEFL. That then turned into assistance with math and science classes for high school and middle school. Please read my profile for some information on my education in Biomedical Engineering with a Pre-medical foundation, or contact me with specific questions.
My background in Biomedical Engineering and Pre-Medical courses means that I can instruct students in all commonly-difficult subjects, such as Chemistry, Calculus/Mathematics, various engineering courses, and Physics. I can also share my skills in report-writing, preparation for laboratory classes and exams, research, and note-taking.

Every student needs to feel comfortable with their instructor before booking a full study session, so I always offer an initial interview session when time permits. In the session we look at that student's semester or year-long schedule and determine what he or she needs help in. Then we talk about what difficulties arise with the more challenging courses, and come up with a study schedule for improvement in those areas. Sometimes the challenge is more systematic than topic-based, and this initial session or study period helps determine if that is the case.
Make sure you are comfortable with them and, as silly as it might be -- can connect with them on some level. You have enough older teachers and professors around you in school or college. They spend a lot of time teaching you, and yet you are struggling with some of their courses. Could that be because you do not feel comfortable stopping the instructor to ask questions? Or are they just uninteresting lecturers who keep losing your attention? I have experienced those cases and know how hard it can be. Hence, even if you do not choose me as your instructor, please make sure your tutor is not just another out-of-touch professor!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How often do you need help? Will that help involve more than one subject? How do you learn best? Do you have experience learning on your own or do you need help with such skills? Nothing bad ever happened from asking, so please don't hesitate reaching out!
