Welcome to Learning Tree Labs, where personalized education meets passion! Located on Whidbey Island, WA, we specialize in Math, Science, and Computer Programming Tutoring, in addition to offering expert guidance with College Admissions Counseling. I started teaching in graduate school, where I was a Teaching Assistant assigned to large lectures of Algebra and Calculus.
I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics with a minor in Statistics. After graduate school I was an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the University of South Carolina. I was there for five years before I left for a career in Information Technology. While I was there I taught many undergraduate and graduate level courses.
I have been tutoring privately off and on since 2010, in between jobs in IT. I am currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at Austin Community College teaching at the Hays Campus.

When I met with a new student, I begin with questions to discover where the student is in his/her development. I work to meet the student where he/she is. My goal is to get the student working problems on paper as soon as possible.
I have tutored middle school and high school students in Pre-Algebra, Geometry, Algebra, Calculus, Physics and Statistics. I have also worked with college students tutoring Algebra, Statistics, Calculus and higher level Mathematics courses.

Perfect! Bill was in short, a great tutor and and even better friend. He was always respectful, kind, prompt, and extremely thorough yet concise over his explanation and knowledge of the mathematics world, whether it’s Calculus 1-3 or Linear Algebra or Differential Equations.
