About Gabriela

As a college student, I know the difficulties of engaging students in academically challenging subjects. The paths we take towards education should be molded to the learning style of our children. As a young adult, I can add a new perspective to your children's way of learning in which he/she is encouraged to learn creatively; a trait every tutor and teacher should encourage. Moreover, I promise to prepare learning plans along with your child's teachers to ensure focus while learning from home. Although my experience is limited, I hope to learn along with your child what works best for them, helping them develop a passion for life long learning. Additionally, I'm skilled in multiple subjects including but not limited to History, Mathematics, Spanish, and English.

As a Cuan immigrant, I came to a new country and experienced difficulty learning a new language and becoming accustomed to new ways of learning. Today, transferring to a top university from a community college, I'm grateful for all of my professors, everyone from elementary to college, who encouraged my ambition and saw a student who could transcend the boundaries set upon her. So often I see students who limit themselves because of a subject or a difficult time in their life, which is why I hope to instill the same confidence and provide students with opportunities for their future.

I'm currently a college student working towards an International Relations Bachelor's Degree at a nationally acclaimed Liberal Arts College, Swarthmore College. Earning an Associates Degree from Miami Dade College, I have experience in the Miami-Dade county public school system. My personal experience as a tutor throughout my college experience at the MDC Math Lab and working with multiple children within my own family have propelled my interest in helping children succeed in their academic careers.

Firstly, I like to observe the student to learn more about his learning style. Does the student prefer visuals over auditory learning? What are the children's strengths and weaknesses? By learning a child's interests, you're able to develop suitable lesson plans. After assessing the student's learning style and interests, I encourage the flow of open and honest communication. Students should feek encouraged by those educating them. Provide a student with confidence and they can change the world. Developing trust with a new student is crucial to their success in a specific subject.
