About Andrew
As a High Schooler, I can provide a relatable perspective that can be difficult with older instructors
I like knowing that I can make a difference and help students in getting the grades they want and the help they deserve.
I started by getting a part-time job at Mathnasium, usually working with kids from 1st grade to 12th grade. I've been trying to branch out from the company, and do my own thing, which led me to this website.
I'm a senior in high school and can teach up to Calc AB/ Calc 1. I'm currently taking Calc 2 so I could help with that as well, but it's not preferred.

I like to get started right away, and usually the best way to do that is with homework help. By working through class material it's easy to identify and fix any problems that come up along the way.
I've worked with students from 1st-12th grade of all backgrounds. This includes kids with certain developmental conditions although it's important to note that I'm a high school student and not a professional. I prefer working with older students but am really open to anything.
Make sure the teacher is someone you're okay with spending an hour+ talking to.
I have a student at Mathnasium who's been struggling with three-digit multiplication for a while. I guess the transition from two to three digits must have been confusing, but we worked it out and now that student is flying through every problem I give him.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Decide if your/your student's goal is to catch up in math or to get ahead. This helps me plan sessions. Does the student have any unusual conditions or needs? Think about how long you want your session to be, and if you would want more in the future. I usually ask students to bring in some class material/ homework as I believe it's the best starting point in finding and fixing struggles in math.

I will usually just say $40 an hour but that's super negotiable depending on the length of the session and if the tutoring would occur regularly or just be a one-time thing.
