About Curtis

I have a passion for mathematics. I have been a math tutor for 10 years. I want my students to succeed in mathematics. I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of West Georgia and a master's degree in teaching mathematics from Mercer University.

I enjoy helping students understand mathematics. My favorite part is seeing the "light bulb" come on when a student grasps a mathematical concept.

I have been tutoring math since 2002 in the beta club in high school. I have tutored hundreds of students in math throughout my tutoring history.

I have a bachelor's and masters' degrees in mathematics.

About the lesson

My process is simple. Guided remediation, guided practice, and individual practice for mastery.

I have worked with several types of students including students with disabilities.

Find a tutor who can match your learning style. In my masters program, I was able to study and work with a lot of different learning styles. Remediation is key but individual practice will determine if the student knows the material.

I recently had multiple tutoring sessions with Emily, who needed help on the ASVAB Math portion. After working with her and getting her prepared, she was able to get a near perfect score on the math portion of the ASVAB.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should ask questions releveant to whatsubject material they are sruggling in. For example, if they are struggling with adding fractions, then they should practice mastering the foundation of multiplication in order to formulate the necessary greatest common factors.
