About Carson

Helping others understand Mathematics is my passion, I have been doing it for years, starting with my high school chapter of My Alpha Theta, and going in to tutor for my college and then getting emergency certified to teach 7th grade Mathematics for a semester. I am currently finishing my Bachelor's of Arts in Mathematics.

About the lesson

I like to have an initial conference to establish the needs of the student, what they want to get out of the experience and get an idea of what to expect going forward.

I have worked with students of all ages, though mostly Middle School, High school, and College students, each of which I have worked with in a professional tutoring setting.

Make sure to get someone who has good communicational skills, there are some people in the STEM fields who are extremely smart, but struggle with the disconnect between their advanced understanding of a subject and the understanding that their pupil has.

One of my favorite experiences I had this year was helping my students adapt to Non Traditional Instruction when the school I taught at went online due to Covid-19. Helping students excel with a new method of learning, and setting them up to florish on their own the next year is very gratifying, the most bittersweet part of this is hearing from the students later and getting to hear how well they are doing.
