About Jessica
I have recently published an honors thesis in economics and political science, and I just graduated with a double major honors degree
I have an IB Diploma from one of the most difficult IB schools in the world, St. Clare's of Oxford
I have taken and passed many AP classes during my first two years of high school such as World History, Government, Environmental Science, and Human Geography
My college coursework involved everything from statistics and calculus to literature and political science
I am a patient and kind young woman. I used to tutor all my international friends in English and Math during my time in Oxford, and I kept tutoring my friends in college. I am sure I can help whatever student comes my way, up to college level.
I was a certified Red Cross babysitter at age 13 and babysat many times over the years, including for my own little cousins. I am very accustomed to interacting with children
I began tutoring my friends in high school at St Clare's of Oxford because I was one of only five or so students there who spoke English as a first language. Even students I didn't know were asking me to help them with English and Math once word got around and I gladly obliged.
I attended the Pre-IB program at my local public high school and took many AP classes in my first two years. I then went abroad to El Plantio IB international school of Valencia for the fall semester of my junior year and completed the remaining 1 1/2 years of my IB degree in St. Clare's of Oxford.
I attended college at New College of Florida, which I picked due to their honors status, rating, and requirement of a thesis. I now have an honors degree in both economics and political science and an honors thesis in the same subjects.

First I try to get acquainted with the new student, and figure out their problem areas so as to avoid wasting time on the parts they know the best
Then we begin to tackle the problem areas at whatever pace the student is comfortable with
Finally, we integrate the problem areas with the rest of the pertinent information and do practice problems or tests to be sure the information has "sunk in" and is understood
Find a teacher that seems approachable; one that you feel you might be comfortable with that has experience in the subject you want. Even the best tutor in the world may not be someone that meshes well with every student
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should try to recognize which areas they struggle the most in, as those areas are where a tutor would be most helpful. Students should also think about what their particular teacher seems to want or emphasize so as to be best prepared for upcoming tests.
