About Colin

I am currently a high school math teacher teaching AP Calculus, AP Statistics, and Pre-Calculus. I also have had experiences teaching Algebra 1 and 2.

My educaitonal background consists of over 10 years of teaching experience. I was a Biology major in college and earned my teaching degree shortly afterwards.

I moved to New York to go to graduate school at Columbia to pursue a degree in Public Administration in 2015 and graduated in 2017. I currently live in Scarsdale, NY.

I used to struggle in math when I was school. I liked it but I always found it very challenging. It wasn't until I got older that I learned to appreciate high school math. At times, it can be very perplexing, but it is a great feeling you finally understand how to solve a complex math problem.

Very much a family business. My father, younger brother, and younger sister were all teachers.

I majored in Biology in college. Earned a teaching in secondary science shortly afterwards. I also earned a degree in Public Administration from Columbia in 2017.

About the lesson

Asking them what particular topics do they feel confident about (because they have to have strengths) and then work my way to the topics that give them the most trouble.

All students from elementary, middle, high school and adults.

Do not look for miracle solutions. Like all things, math takes practice and more practice.
