About Amy
One-on-one work is the best way to identify gaps in knowledge and where children can feel more confident. My lessons are generally for folks in grade school. My typical plans include (1) some warm-up exercises, sometimes math-based but sometimes just fun, then (2) a review of the last lesson's material, (3) introducing new material, and then (4) an exit activity.
I am a professional in mechanical engineering with a love of teaching. I have a passion for math and science, with a goal of taking the fear out of it and turning that into fun, or just comfort. When living in Boston, I was very active in a non-profit called Tutors For All bringing tutors to low-income schools.
