About Alex
Having been a tutor, a teacher, or an educator for more than 14 years now, I can say that I am passionate about seeing my students thrive.
I started tutoring in high school, and continued during prep school and engineering school. By then I had realized teaching is what I wanted to do. So after my Masters I became a science teacher, in France, then in Nepal for 4 years. Having now moved to the United States, I tutored and subbed in math, science, and French, before becoming a full time French teacher this school year. I am also in charge of the Math team at our high school.
I believe in teaching students to help them become more independant thinkers who are then able to solve problems on their own!
I have two Masters in Engineering and am currently emergency certified in science in Maine.
I enjoy seeing my students realize they understand a new concept. I try to give them the tools and confidence to be able to work on their own in the future.
Having worked both in large classrooms and one-on-one, I know the benefits of a smaller group. I appreciate beeing able to give my students my full attention.
