About Lisa
Hi, I’m a certified math teacher with 16 years of high school experience and an Engineering Masters Degree. I was promoted to Master Tutor of SATs and I have 21 years of experience for that.
I was teacher of the year the first time I was eligible. I will answer Student texts when I’m not working and I have a lot of digital and paper resources available.
I believe I can make your math better and more fun.
Have a great day.
I was an Engineer on maternity leave and while I love my babies I was bored.
I saw an add in the paper that said "Do you like people? Do you think youre intelligent? SAT prep tutoring.......

We start with a parent/student text/phone interview to establish goals and explain the process.
We choose a time and date for our first meeting and I send a Google link on the Google meet I use my white presentation board, and anyone of numerous resources that I have depending on the subject. My job is to engage the student. They need to actively be part of the process and I try to help them enjoy and practice math. Because that’s all Math is : learning and practicing some arbitrary rules.
lol all of them. from sixth grade through college and recently an adult who needed to pass the math section of his electrical operator certification test
Interview the teachers!
YOU are hiring THEM. Find someone that suits your personality. if you want this enough to do the work, then you’ll do fine
I made a video about how math is important for my students, and I put it on Facebook. And a lot of my former students reached out and told me they still love me which is awesome, because I still love each and everyone of them.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do I want to achieve with this tutoring?
What am I willing to do to reach my goals?
does this teacher style suit me?

Perfect! Lisa was excellent and we will be calling on her in the future as needed. My granddaughter thought she was great, explained algebra in an easy to learn fashion and would be happy to work with her again. Lisa is also extremely approachable, responsive and personable and easy to contact. It was a great experience to work with her.

Ms. Betty is the best teacher I've ever had. Throughout all the tutoring I've done with her she's made absolutely certain I have a full understanding of all the material no matter how many times I have to go over it. She's really cares about the students she teaches and is wonderful at explaining tough to understand concepts while keeping learning engaging enough that you won't zone out.
One of my most recommended tutors. I was behind on my math particularly algebra but Lisa managed to catch me right up on it and made the transition to calculus easier. So if you have any sort of advanced math and you're not getting Lisa Betty as your tutor then you're missing out.
She was a tremendous help with my academics and also with career advice. She is one of the reasons I chose my college major after high school, and after all these years she is still willing to help me grow and learn in my academic career. One of the most personable and kind people I've had the pleasure to meet!
