About Sean
I have tutored over 300 hours of high school math ranging from Algebra 1 to Calculus BC. I strive not only to get the student to be able to do problems, but to get the student to intuitively understand the "why" behind concepts. Math was not made to confuse anyone, it works super efficiently and logically, so long as the information is presented well to the student.

I start out by gauging where the student is at with the level of math they are on track for. The first session I usually take about 15-30 minutes to get a good sense of where the student is and move on to explaining/teaching concepts and practicing them right away to build a good math vocabulary.
Especially when school is not in session, I create my own curriculum according to what the specific student needs and move from there. I stress the importance of enjoying (or at least not hating) math as a key to success. Learning happens more naturally when the brain is not agitated.
