About Shanya

I have always had a knack for explaining things through a new lens. Perspective is key when trying to learn something new!

During high school, I was always the student who would help others in my class when we had time to work on homework. From here, parents started asking me to spend time with their students outside of school to help them perform better.

I do have a degree in public health which included advanced courses in math and science.

About the lesson

I always start by asking for recent homework/tests/ quizzes that were already completed to get a better understanding of exactly what the student is working on as well as to understand their mistakes. I also like to familiarize myself with the text that they are learning from. This way I can formulate the best way to attack their future learning.

Make sure that the teacher is patient and understanding, these qualities guarantee someone who will continue to work with you and be innovative until they find a solution that works
