About Emmanuel

In my class students just don't listen, they get to do a lot of practice questions. They are given the chance to test their understanding of whatever is taught and to ask questions. I explain math concepts in a very easy to understand way.

I am currently a student at New York University, as can be deduced from my email. I have 4-years experience in teaching SAT Math and a lot of other General Math topics like Calculus, Algebra, Geometry, etc. the way I tackle Algebra especially is very wonderful. Not only that, but I would also say that I have a strong grasp on algebra and calculus.

For SAT Math subject tests, I teach my students the shortcuts to be used to tackle different question types. My students loved this approach as it helps them to get lots of questions right in a few steps for each. Personally, I had a perfect SAT Math score on the October 2019 SAT and had a super score of 1570/1600 on my SAT (October and December combined). You can read more about my exploits as a math tutor from my Linked-In Profile (specifically under the volunteer experience and accomplishments sections) attached here.

I particularly like teaching shortcuts that can be used to quickly evaluate some math problems that require many steps. The wows from my students and the mark of awe on their faces to me is always a nice thing to behold.

After my Mum passed away from liver cancer, I had to find a way to support my siblings and myself. I took up this job which I am excellent at since math has always excited me to make people love math and revolutionize how they approach it.

As a current math major at NYU, I am very knowledgeable in anything math related, even though I am a big fan of mathematics shortcuts and I love to teach students short ways to approach math concepts they recently learnt from me after a section with me.

I first give them some time to talk about what they perceive as the main cause of a weakness in a particular topic in mathematics. I then give them a few questions and by inferring from the steps they used to get their answers, I am able to recommend ways to improve upon certain mistakes that could have been avoided.

I have worked with students with diverse strengths in math. There were some who had very poor grasp of math, but I shaped them into people who appreciate math a lot thereafter.

If the teacher has a trial class just book it to at  least see their approach to their work. Always give them a chance through that. You can never tell, they might be the best

The time when I explained to my 14-year-old cousin that one does not necessarily need to use system of equations to find two numbers given their sum and difference. From logic, one can just subtract the difference from the sum, split whatever is obtained into 2 equal parts as that has to be shared equally, then add the difference to one of the equal parts. This will quickly give him the 2 numbers. As you can guess, my cousin was amazed.
