About Tumelo

I am a person who believes in dynamic not fixed time frame .I have met different learners /students through my past 3 years in tutoring who have different attitudes ,values and behaviours something we are not used to it at all .I learnt that students /learners in front of us have different challenges see things differently does things differently and so as an leader /tutor I ask myself the question what skills and mindset do I need to inspire ,motivate and retain as interested and committed students valued. I challenge myself to adapt my strategies to students who give their loyalty first to social responsibility ahead of their personal achievement. My ultimate goal is to assist the student in becoming a self-directed learner.I am also patient with my students .

Doing my final year Bsc Degree majoring in Computational and applied mathematics ,Pure mathematics and Physics .

Member of the Golden key , Represented South Africa(SA) at international mathematics competition (IMC 2020 and 2021 ) , Represented SA at international youth mathematics challenge 2020 and 2021 ( Sliver medal) . Represented SA at international team physics university competition 2020 ( Bronze medal ) . Represented SA at international astronomy and astrophysics 2021 ( Bronze medal ) .

My high school Mathematics instructor shaped me into the person I am now. I'll pass on my knowledge.

I've enrolled in a tutoring program at the University of the Witwatersrand. I was offered a position as a first-year tutor as well as a residence academic advisor.

i am currently doing maths major , physics major and computatiional and applied mathematics .

About the lesson

.I learnt that students /learners in front of us have different challenges see things differently does things differently and so as an tutor I ask myself the question what skills and mindset do I need to inspire ,motivate and retain as interested and committed students valued.

I am adaptable and patient in my teaching, I am able to work with a wide range of students.

I think you need a tutor who is proactive. Someone who have a strong relationship with students not because we agree all the time, but we care about the same thing.Someone who can do flip classroom where the delivery is different and maybe the student can respond differently.

In the year 2020, I was able to tutor students until their final exams. In less than 6 months, I was able to increase their attentiveness from 40% to 75% or higher. In both mathematics and physical science, I have received more than 30 A's. in the course of my tutoring career

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I prefer students to think about the problem for 15 minutes before asking for assistance, so that they can think independently in the long run.
