About Danilo

Learning can oftentimes be difficult. We've all been there. That one problem, subject, or project, that we just struggle to grasp; It's infuriating.

I get it.

I dealt with that frustration while becoming a full-time college student at 15 and moreover while completing my Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering. But with my extensive 4+ years of teaching (University, Highschool, and Tennis) and leadership/communication experience (Quality and Project Engineer, Project Manager and Social Media Marketing), I can help end that frustration.

Learning isn't black and white, so neither should tutoring. I tailor all my sessions specifically to the student's needs, mentalities, and personalities. I want all of my students to succeed, and to actually have some enjoyment in the learning process.

Consider checking my LinkedIn for a more extensive summary of my experience:

(concealed information)

I love to see others succeed. I feel most empowered when I have a positive impact on someone else's life, so throughout my school career, I took opportunities where I could teach.

I recently graduated as an Aerospace Engineer, but throughout my high school and college career, I took up several teaching and managerial positions, such as:

Project Manager for senior design for 1.5 years

Tennis assistant instructor for 1.5 years

Math tutor (Up to calculus 2) for 1 year

Physics teacher assistant for 1 year

Algebra 2 substitute teacher 4 months

The psychology of teaching really breaks down to understanding the fundamentals of any topic and teaching it in a fun and creative manner, to achieve the goal of modeling the material as understandable and memorable.

With this in mind, I like to have a few days in advance prior to working with the new student, to know where they are in their education, what their main struggles are (if possible to describe), and their preferred teaching style (visual, analogical, etc.) to better tailor the tutoring sessions to better serve them.

I have mainly worked with high school and college students. I have some experience with middle schoolers due to my tennis teaching experience.

Aside from the technical knowledge required, look for someone who truly cares for your success. In high school or in college, many times a professor can either make or break a class, and I believe that holds true in tutoring. Someone who cares will show it in their actions. For example, by changing their teaching style to better serve you, doing their best to understand your struggles and viewpoints, and someone who goes the extra mile to make sure you truly understand the material.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
List of questions:

When did I first notice myself struggling in this class/subject?

Is this a study problem or is this an understanding problem?

What do I find interesting/what am I passionate about? (Potential avenue to help a tutor know the mentality of the student to better explain solutions)

What are my expectations?

What are some metrics I can use to track my own progress?
