About Vance

I am flexible in working with any student and can come up with creative approaches to learning difficulties. I will always try my best to help my clients and turn areas of struggle into strengths. Math is one of my strongest areas, as I have excellent foundational and applied skills. I recently completed AP Calculus BC and am looking to help others enjoy mathematics at any level from K-12.

I enjoy the challenge of helping students in their individual learning journey. I highly value education and creative thinking to overcome any obstacle and hope to share that with other students.

I do not have any professional teaching experience, but mastery of class content and helping fellow students understand the subject opened me to this service.

I am a high school senior at the Ocean Lakes High School Math and Science Academy. I have completed rigorous courses and have a 4.0 GPA. Additionally, I have experience working with younger students in volunteer and classroom settings.

About the lesson

Find out what help they need in specific subject areas and help them learn through specific, tailored instruction. I take into account their current knowledge and learning style to help the information and skills stick.

I have worked with elementary and middle school students with understanding basics and fundamental math skills. I have also helped high school students with more specific formulas and methods.

Look for a teacher who is confident in their skills and willing to work with any student, even if it means going out of the way on their part. If unsure, ask to meet with the teacher beforehand, to make sure it is a good fit.

I went to beach with my family a few weekends ago. It was early, but it was peaceful and very relaxing.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think through what they are struggling with and look for underlying patterns. They should write down specific questions or any general confusion they have. The teacher can certainly help them, but the more communication, the better.
