About Shambhavi
I love getting students interested in math-from calculus to statistics. Math really is the language for all other sciences!
I enjoy enabling students to feel inspired by their ability to do things they originally thought they couldn't do-like difficult assignments, improving their test scores, and understanding new concepts!
I had younger cousins who had trouble with math homework, and sitting down with them and regularly working through their doubts was really exciting for me! Especially so when I saw their progress.
I have tutored students from elementary to high school as volunteer work, and worked with teachers to develop learning aids. I have also tutored adults enrolled in Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business.
Currently I am a graduate student in the MS Economics program at Georgetown with a focus in Computational Finance.

Review their class syllabus, and look at one of their most recent tests. Then break up topics and identify student specific problem areas. Upon identifying these challenges, I try to set tangible and definite goals along with the student. This develops a sense of ownership and accountability. On a regular basis I may assign additional homework and/or reading when relevant and help the student with their assigned school work.
I have worked with young adults from 10 to 18 years old, and worked with executive MBA students at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business for the Introduction to Financial Markets course.

Perfect! Shambhavi is so patient with my son. He was extremely behind in math and since we've started he's had more confidence. She's very accommodating with our schedule, and when I messaged her on short notice that he had a test coming up she spent the evening with him to make sure he was prepared. She even corresponds with his teacher to make sure they are on schedule with what the class is learning. Excellent tutor. I'm so happy we found her.
