About Kai
I provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring in virtually every subject and for all grades from Kindergarten to College. I can work with a full range of requests, from struggling students wanting to improve their performance to high-performing students seeking to maintain their exemplary standing.
I work with private and public school students, as well as homeschool and college students. Typically, I design a personalized study and tutoring program based on the personality, aptitude, skills, and learning style of each student. Instead of expecting students to fit a predesigned template, I customize our work to fit each unique student.
In addition to the core subjects in Mathematics, Sciences, and English, I tutor students and lead study groups for classes such as Physics, Electrical & Computer Engineering, and a variety of Humanities Courses. I can proficiently tutor most areas of mathematics. I have years of experience in Calculus, Algebra, Geometry, and Computer Science. I work in test preparation for SAT and ACT as well.
I initially volunteered with the owner/operator of Truesdale Academy Tutoring company. She allowed me to branch off into my own division, solely focusing on Mathematics, Engineering, and STEM-oriented courses.
I am an Engineering major at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. I have taken and led study groups for some of the most difficult Math, Engineering, Computer Science, and Physics courses available.

Typically, we schedule a meet and greet to discuss the logistics of scheduling, pricing, and time commitment. From there, we create a learning plan and start our sessions.
I work with students of all abilities, age ranges, and learning styles.
I would look for a teacher/tutor with amazing references and the ability to adapt to any learning style for instruction.
I had an a-ha moment with one of my students when discussing differential equations and partial derivatives. Most noteably, we spoke through a common acronym and I was able to explain the meaning of each part of it. She finally understood and was able to apply this information to ace her upcoming assessment.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should consider their learning styles, their strengths and areas of concern, and their level of commitment to the topic at hand.

We had a great experience with Kai as a tutor. Kai was very knowledgeable and able to explain difficult concepts in a way that our child could understand. They were also very flexible with scheduling and always gave us virtual options for our sessions. They also helped communicate my child’s need to the school. I would definitely recommend this tutor to anyone who needs help with their studies.
My 4th grader had an amazing experience with Kai! Kai was patient, knowledgeable and helped him understand the concepts he was struggling with. Kai’s teaching style was engaging and made the lessons enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this tutor to anyone who needs extra help, especially with Math and Reading.
I worked with Kai when I took College Algebra last semester, and they were incredibly helpful! They explained everything in great detail, set up a study plan with me, and took time to prepare me for my future lectures at the end of every session. I highly recommend them as a tutor in collegiate math.
