About Marcia

I am dedicated to helping children reach their highest learning potential. I offer individualized reading, math and kindergarten readiness tutoring for children three to ten years of age.

I enjoy helping students reach their learning goals through individualized fun and engaging lessons.

As a parent volunteer I enjoyed working with students in the classroom setting. This led to a job offer as an instructional assistant in a special needs classroom. Eventually, I earned my degree and became a certified elementary school teacher.

I graduated from Nova Southeasten University's Fischler School of Edcuation with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. My concentation was ESOL and teaching learners with special needs. I have extensive classroom experience ranging from prekindergarten to 6th grade. My instructional goal is to help my tutee's achieve their highest learning potential through lessons that are fun and engaging.

About the lesson

I try to get a better understanding of my student's learning goals. I ask questions about their strenghs, weaknesses, learning style, hobbies and how they feel about school.

I have worked with children who are gifted, specific learning disabled, on the autism spectrum, and English language learners.

Teachers should be passionate about teaching and helping their tutees achieve their highest learning potential. They should build a rapport with their students and customize lessons that reflect the students learning style. Most of all, learning should be engaging, meaningful and fun.

I am fond of the Multicultural Day event that my 2nd grade team hosted. My students enjoyed learning about our focus country and they even went further and did their own research to learn even more.
