About Joy

I have 41 years of experience in teaching in public schools and numerous years of working with my own sons when they needed more than traditional schools were able to offer. I am certified to teach grades 1-8, 8-12 English and history, English as a 2nd language, and all levels of special education. Having both experience and training in several research based methods to teach dyslexic students as well as students who struggle with math, I have the tools and know how to help your child be successful. I truly enjoy working with young people, and I love to see them achieve their goals.

I started out teaching Sunday School and Children’s Church while still in high school. I loved working with young people, so I got a degree in teaching and have been blessed to do what I love for over 40 years now.
