About Alicia

Hey so a little bit about me, I am an undergraduate at LJMU studying a bachelors in biology currently in my 2nd year heading into my 3rd year, I’ve always had a connection to the subject from a very young age living as and growing up as a child with type 1 diabetes it lead me to want to understand the mechanisms behind it.

Due to this it I believe it has turned me into a very passionate researcher I love what I do everyday due to loving what I do I want to share my level of understanding and help others to develop and excel in the subject area and I want individuals to enjoy what they are learning I want them to get creative and visual to have fun and visualise learning in a positive way. I have taught previously around different primary/high school during the duration of my studies doing 1-1’s with students around the subject area. About the lesson

As a biology tutor who believes in using the real world as a visual to understanding biological concepts I’m all about making the subject come to life, I use interactive demonstrations, exciting experiments, and captivating visuals to help engage students into the biological world through connecting abstract concepts into real life examples and encouraging active participation, I strive to ignite a passion for biology in my students I believe true understanding and passion leads many students to excel not just in their grades but with their overall understanding, I like to be patient with each of my students I enjoy to listen to any of their questions as I do understand the depths the subject dives into and it’s complexities, together we will dive into the mysteries of life learning and discovering the world of biology.

During the sessions online I use structured learning style, a student will never leave a session confused I like to make sure that they fully understand each topic in depth, during the session I like to use a lot of visuals, fun interactive quizzing, example experiments to make each session creative and tailored to each individual. After the session I make sure to send over any content via PDF to each student so that they can take all the resources we have covered during the sessions to look back on, I always end sessions using reflective questions to ensure they are fully confident in what we have covered.
