About Vivek

My connection to the guitar, 15+ years, has always been rooted in a genuine drive to make music with others. For years, I wrote and performed with my band, Maya's Grid (formerly The Malakar Experience). We released original tracks like 'Flying Heavy,' recorded live in a single-take studio session (Be Harmonic), both available on YouTube, and played at a few diverse venues in India. It was simply the honest pursuit of someone who genuinely loved the process of creating music.

As I dived deeper into teaching as my profession, I brought that holistic philosophy with me. I understand and support that learning your favourite songs gives you the musical vocabulary, and learning how to compose helps you understand how to use it. Whether you are strumming a famous chord progression or writing your first original melody, that intersection is where the real explosion in your learning tapestry happens. Every student naturally benefits from both.

Teaching is my main profession, so I take my responsibility to your progress very seriously and treat our time together with absolute respect. At the same time, my teaching style is intentionally moderate and grounded. I avoid high-stress, overly intense approaches. My goal is simply to provide clear, reliable instruction at a steady, comfortable pace so you can build a musical vocabulary you genuinely enjoy using. "YOUR GROWTH IS AFTER ALL MY MAIN INTEREST."

Hello! I’m Vivek, a professional guitar instructor specialising in structured, goal-oriented online lessons for acoustic and electric guitar, ukulele, and music theory.

Why Learn With Me?

Internationally Recognised Curricula: I seamlessly integrate graded syllabuses from world-class examination boards like Rockschool and Trinity College London. These provide an incredible, structured catalogue of song options and foundational exercises that guarantee steady, measurable progress.

Pedagogically Sound Sequencing: No random YouTube tutorials or guesswork. Every lesson follows a carefully optimised sequence designed to instil great physical habits, build fretboard fluency, and maximise your growth for the practice time you put in.

Creativity From Day One: Theory and technique are important, but music is about expression. From the very beginning in our lessons, we will work on crafting simple melodies, understanding chord progressions, and developing your own improvisational voice.

Comprehensive Practice Support: Every session is backed by custom digital resources, synced notation/tabs, demo & backing tracks, and structured practice routines so you always know what to focus on between classes.

Distance is never a barrier. My lessons run over a stable, high-speed fibre connection with HD video positioned so you always have a clear view of both my fretting and picking hands. Combined with musician-optimised audio settings and real-time screen sharing for tabs, chord charts, and notation, every session feels just as clear and interactive as sitting in the same room.

Details

To ensure we work at a steady, comfortable pace that suits your specific goals and learning style, I offer three different lesson lengths:

30-Minute Lesson (£15): Highly recommended for young beginners (under 8) or casual learners just starting their musical journey. This is the perfect amount of time to introduce foundational concepts and keep the process fun and engaging without causing fatigue.

45-Minute Lesson (£20): The standard choice for intermediate students, teens, or those working through early Rockschool and Trinity grades. This duration gives us the breathing room to comfortably cover both technical exercises and song repertoire without feeling rushed.

60-Minute Lesson (£24): Ideal for adult learners, advanced grade prep, and students interested in songwriting and composition. A full hour allows us to dive deeply into the "learning tapestry," giving you the space to thoroughly explore both playing covers and writing your own original music.
