About Thomas
I'm a 3rd year student at the University of Leeds studying French and Linguistics and 1st year student at the Open University studying Mathematics and Statistics. I've spent 6 years working as a modern language/A level math tutor in Luxembourg and spent 2 years working as a French language assistant at York College to prepare students for their oral examinations. I also worked in France for a year as an English language assistant in two secondary schools in association with the British Council.
I've achieved all As/A*s at GCSE and A-Level and still remember the challenges and pathways to success when studying at this level.
Also have 2 years of experience tutoring Maths at primary, secondary, and A-level.

I base my lessons on what the curriculum suggests: focusing on gaining confidence for final exams whilst also making sure that lessons and subject matter remains engaging by sharing my enthusiasm for/knowledge of Mathematics (including French and German). Having been through the education system in the UK and in Luxembourg, I have drawn from my own experiences of learning mathematics and foreign languages and facing the challenges I managed to overcome.
When tutoring younger children, my aim is to make the lessons as fun as possible focusing on content which engages a younger mind, whilst making sure progress is monitored and learning outcomes are achieved.
