About Ilona

I grew up in the vibrant city of Cape Town, but my roots are in the Eastern Cape, in the small town of Butterworth. My upbringing has given me a strong sense of pride, resilience, and appreciation for diverse communities. I am currently a final-year Mechanical Engineering student, a journey that has strengthened my passion for math and science and inspired me to share that knowledge with others. My studies have taught me discipline, problem-solving, and the ability to break down complex ideas into simple, understandable steps. Combining my background, values, and academic experience, I strive to support learners with patience, clarity, and genuine enthusiasm.

About the lesson

I am a dedicated and passionate maths and science tutor with a strong ability to explain challenging concepts in a clear and engaging way. As a final-year Mechanical Engineering student, I bring advanced subject knowledge and real-world problem-solving experience that helps students understand how theory connects to practical applications. I have worked with learners at different levels, adapting my teaching style to suit individual needs and learning preferences. My approach is patient, structured and encouraging, helping students build confidence, improve their marks and genuinely enjoy learning.
