About Marie

Hi, I’m Marie-Lisette — a fine art and editorial photographer working between London and Berlin. My work has been exhibited internationally, and I hold an MA in Photography. Alongside my personal practice, I founded Cropp Studios in Berlin, a collaborative studio space supporting emerging photographers and artists.

I come from both a creative and professional photography background, so I understand how to balance strong ideas with technical skills and clear presentation. I’ve worked across editorial and fine art projects, and regularly support other artists through feedback, collaboration and portfolio development.

I create a relaxed and supportive learning environment where you can ask questions, experiment, and build confidence in your work. At the same time, I’ll give you honest, constructive feedback to help you improve and move forward.

Whether you’re completely new to photography or preparing a portfolio for school or university, I’ll help you develop your skills, refine your ideas, and present your work in a way that feels strong and personal.

About the lesson

I keep my teaching very flexible and tailored to you. Whether you’re just starting out, building a portfolio for GCSE/A Level or university, or already working on a project, I’ll meet you where you’re at and help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

My lessons are a mix of practical and creative support. We can look at camera skills, lighting and editing, but also spend time developing your ideas, sequencing images, and thinking about how your work is presented—whether that’s a portfolio, book, or zine. I’m especially interested in helping you find your own visual style and voice, rather than just following rules.

If you’re preparing for applications (GCSE, A Level, foundation or university), I can help shape your portfolio, edit your work, and guide you through how to present it in a strong and personal way. I also offer support with book and zine design, including layout and InDesign.

I’m an internationally exhibited fine art and editorial photographer with an MA in Photography, and I run a photography studio in Berlin. Alongside my own practice, I’ve worked closely with other artists and enjoy mentoring and sharing knowledge.

Lessons are usually 1–2 hours and can take place in London or online.

I teach a range of levels—from GCSE and A Level students to university applicants and adults looking to develop their creative work.
