About James
I have always had a keen interest in science and Biology, with Geography following closely behind as another favourite. After A-levels I went to Northumbria University to study Biology, where I specialised in environmental science, physiology, and zoology, achieving a first. While there, I played football and lacrosse for the university as well as a few other societies such as OTC. With both a strong academic record and teacher training experience, I bring professionalism and enthusiasm to every lesson. Whether you are preparing for exams, working through challenging material, or aiming to deepen your understanding, I provide a safe and encouraging learning environment where you can thrive.

I believe that the best learning happens when students feel confident and engaged. My sessions are interactive and tailored to individual needs, whether that means breaking down complex theories into clear steps, using real-world examples to make topics relatable, or providing structured practice questions to build exam technique. As a teacher in training at UCL I am constantly learning new teaching methods and styles which helps improve my lessons for students. Each lesson can be specifically tailored to the A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, though I can provide shorter, focused sessions (30–45 minutes) for quick topic refreshers, or longer sessions (up to 90 minutes) for in-depth preparation. Lessons are aimed at all children in ages throughout secondary school (12-18), including GCSE and A-level tutoring.
