About Karim
I was helping my younger sister with her A-level Maths and I found the whole process very rewarding. This is why I decided I want to help even more students in my free time. I have since delivered 500+ hours of tutoring and went on to qualify as a Mathematics teacher. I bring a positive attitude into the lessons and make sure I break down complex topics in a way they understand it until they get that lightbulb moment when it eventually all clicks. I really believe in the growth mindset that there isn't a limit to one's ability. This is an area that I have noticed many children struggle with as they have developed limiting beliefs about their ability. This manifests through them telling themselves they can’t answer questions on a certain topic for example or that they are not ‘smart’ enough to get the top grades. I really enjoy working with children in a personalised way that focuses on strengthening gaps in their knowledge ultimately clearing up these limited beliefs they had about their abilities and showing them how well they are capable of doing if they put their mind to it.

I believe there's no one-way fits all when it comes to learning. Therefore, to help each student learn and develop, I am happy to understand how each student would like me to conduct the lessons to help them make the most out of that time. We can go through the syllabus or just the topics you don’t quite get, work through past papers together and I can help you identify where you can improve and how to nail that exam technique. I enjoy engaging lesson environment i.e. where I am regularly asking the student questions throughout the lesson to make sure they understand the material covered and to ensure they don’t zone out. I like to encourage students to never shy out from asking as many questions as they want. I really do believe one of the best ways to learn is by asking questions and that there’s no such a thing as a stupid question.
