About Samantha
My background began in Art & Design, I have a first-class degree in Design (Ceramics) from Loughborough University. I became a practising ceramic artist working from a respected London studio alongside Kate Malone, exhibiting and selling work internationally and to leading retailers including Liberty and Selfridges.
Alongside my studio practice, I developed a parallel career in education, including university lecturing, mentoring students on professional practice, and delivering community-based creative workshops.
I have remained deeply committed to education and community engagement. I have taught art, craft and pottery in primary schools for over three decades- this included developing lesson plans and delivering high quality education-based creativity, through to firing the kiln and all technical elements of the subject. I have delivered adult education and SEN-focused workshops, and continue to support young people through enterprise initiatives, interview preparation programmes, and creative mentoring within the arts.
More recently, I have expanded this work through Nest Workshops, delivering hands-on creative sessions such as Indian block printing for corporate and private bookings.
I am an experienced practitioner, and I am available for educational, corporate and private tutoring. This can be within the framework of drawing, life drawing, printing, ceramics and pottery. I create experience based programmes, this could be a large group project, a whole class project, a classroom of budding artists, or on a one-to-one private basis. I am available as a freelance art teacher, or cover teacher in the creative sector.

I am an experienced ceramics and creative artist tutor, practising artist and workshop facilitator with over 30 years teaching experience across a wide range of settings including adult education, specialist SEN settings and primary schools.
I have a first-class degree in ceramics and have spent my creative career guiding people of all ages and abilities to explore creativity in a supportive, engaging and relaxing way.
My teaching style is calm, intuitive and highly adaptable. I specialise in working with beginners, those working in high stress careers and individuals who benefit from more personalised or therapeutic approach to learning.
