About Tsz Kei

I believe that language is a means for us to convey our feelings and ideas. With written words, speech travels afar and breaks through the limitations of time and space, for people to appreciate the vastness of the world. The appealing words and heartfelt texts reach deep into the heart, enhancing temperament and self-confidence.

Therefore, even though I am already a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese, two of the most spoken tongues in the Chinese language, I chose to further my study in the language by taking up a bachelor's degree in Chinese Language and Literature at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. As its title indicates, the degree combines both linguistic and literary studies. Studying language from these two aspects not only helps me to deepen my understanding of the language's subtleties but also allows me to appreciate the beauty of literature. Utilizing my knowledge and language skills acquired, I have been appointed as master of ceremonies at various events, providing bilingual (Mandarin and Cantonese) service to the audience with clear enunciation. I have also been engaged in academic and creative writings as well as editing and translating. As a recognition of my academic competence and command of the language, I have been awarded First Class Honours for my four-year degree programme and some of my works have been selected for publication by various organizations.

Aspired to share my knowledge and passion for the language with others, I have been teaching the language over the past four years in Hong Kong. I always try my best in creating a motivating learning environment for my students. The most recent tutoring job I did is teaching children from underprivileged families under a community scheme in which my students have made applaudable improvements according to the follow-up test result. Yet, more importantly, I can see that they have built confidence and become more driven to learn, which makes me chuffed to bits.
