About Songquing
As a first-year college student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics at UIUC. Prior to college, I excelled in high school mathematics, consistently earning top grades and participating in math competitions or extracurricular activities. During high school, I also tutored students in mathematics in my school's tutoring program.

As a math tutor, my approach is centered around fostering a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, rather than just memorizing formulas or procedures. My lessons are for middle schoolers and high schoolers. I make sure that the student is fully able to explain the process and apply it. During a lesson, I would first start with assessing the student's understanding of a topic. If there are any identifiable gaps in the student's knowledge, I would break down the concept into smaller pieces so that they could understand.
