1. A great learning experience can be created by first understanding the student's version of the problem. Once I know the level we're beginning on, it becomes much easier to focus on getting better.
2. I try to always keep the end goal in mind. If you know where you need to go, then the road to get there doesn't seem long or confusing. The end goal can be a good grade, a particular college choice, or even the objective of that problem.
3. Remember that it's not always about ability. Practice has a direct correlation with results. Head down, focus, fail, repeat till you succeed.
