About Gloria

I have around 10 years of private art tutoring experience, including 5–6 years teaching in Hong Kong and ongoing online teaching since then. I studied Art and Design in England and Jewellery Design in Hong Kong. I also have experience teaching students with special educational needs (SEN). In 2018 and 2019, I organised teacher-student art exhibitions at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, showcasing artwork by my students and myself.

About the lesson

My teaching approach starts with pencil drawing, progresses to charcoal drawing, and then moves on to painting with acrylics and watercolours. Many people think that working with colour is easier than drawing in black and white. However, I believe that a good understanding of drawing is essential before moving on to painting. Students will learn the fundamentals of observation, proportion, shading and composition before exploring colour and different painting techniques.
Lessons are available in both English and Cantonese.
