I have been teaching for 20 years now, out of which 10 years were spent in lecturership and the remaining as a private tutor.

I generally start by explaining the topic aided with various examples. In my experience, most students grasp the topic very quickly when they are given examples relating to daily life or experiences.
The explanation of the topic is then followed by rigorous practice sessions followed by regular tests.
I keep the interaction friendly so that the students won't hesitate to ask any questions. I make sure to answer all the questions.
