About Hugo

My name is Hugo, I was born in Paris and grew up in France. I am now 21 and after engineering studies in France I am now studying Robotics in Edinburgh.

My engineering studies required a particularly concise and impeccable command of the French language ;
In my cursus I had to take the Voltaire French language certificate, in which I scored 889/1000. The mean score for a French speaker is 549 and a score above 900 is the level of a professionnal translator.

Concerning my English language skills, I have the C1 level. I live in Edinburgh since 4 months and last year I spent 3 months in Ireland for an internship that allowed me to progress deeply on my fluency of the English language.

I also have experience in private teaching ; in France, I taught during 3 years mathematics and physics to several high school students.

About the lesson

As a native French speaker I find myself confortable with teaching French for all levels.

French is often described as a tricky language, with a lot of specific rules. I tend to build my lessons towards repetition of the main principles and vocabulary through various sentences and texts because it is the best way to ensure durable memorization. I focus on all the 4 pillars of language mastery : writing, reading, listening and speaking.

My lessons usually have a length of 1 or 2 hours.
