About Kirsty

I am a firm believer in the power of language learning to expand your horizons and understanding of other cultures. Having just returned from 18 months living in Paris, I am excited to help students improve their French, academic or conversational alike.
I majored in French Language and Culture at the ANU and love passing on my knowledge to budding francophiles.

About the lesson

I have a very nurturing approach to teaching, with an emphasis on immersion. We will only speak in French, helping you to gain confidence and practice both your listening and speaking skills. We will look at texts from the current media and practice writing in line with requirements of the NSW curriculum (if you are a school student). We will discuss hot topics and have conversations relevant to everyday life. We will tackle one key grammar concept each lesson.

I have known Kirsty since she was a young teenager when I was her piano teacher for several years - she was a dedicated student who always did well and threw herself into everything she did with a passion! She gained a scholarship to go to France as an exchange student in her final year of school where she reinforced her love and knowledge of the French language and culture. Since then Kirsty has pursued her education in many fields including Law, English and French during her time at ANU, and traveled extensively in many countries. She has up until recently been living and working in France. Kirsty has a very warm and engaging personality and loves to share her knowledge with others. I believe she would be an excellent tutor and have no hesitation in recommending her.
