About Erik
I am a passionate and experienced Flute tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience. I teach School students, College students, and working professionals who want to learn flute in a clear, structured, and enjoyable way. My goal is to help students develop strong musical skills and confidence.
My teaching approach focuses on building a solid foundation. I train students in correct posture, breathing techniques, finger coordination, tone quality, rhythm accuracy, and musical expression. Lessons are planned step by step and adjusted according to each student’s learning pace and goals.
I believe communication is essential in music learning. I explain concepts in simple language and demonstrate techniques clearly. Accountability is maintained through regular practice plans and progress reviews. Integrity guides my teaching, and I always provide honest feedback and encouragement.
Along with flute lessons, I also teach music theory, notation reading, rhythm exercises, and basic performance techniques. I help students prepare for exams, auditions, and stage performances.
My unique strength is my patience and ability to adapt lessons for students of different ages and professional schedules. I create a disciplined yet friendly learning environment that motivates students to grow musically.

My flute teaching methodology focuses on Communication, Creativity, and Flexibility, providing students with a structured yet inspiring approach to learning. I begin by understanding the student’s experience, goals, and learning preferences, allowing me to design lessons that are fully personalised.
Communication is central—I teach essential techniques such as posture, breath control, finger coordination, articulation, phrasing, and sight-reading in a clear, accessible manner, encouraging questions and active participation to build confidence.
Creativity is a vital part of my approach. Students are guided to explore different musical styles, improvise, and create personal interpretations of pieces, fostering artistic expression alongside technical proficiency. Flexibility allows lessons to be adapted according to the student’s pace, progress, and interests, ensuring a rewarding and motivating learning experience.
Along with flute instruction, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, and sight-reading to help students develop comprehensive musicianship. My methodology ensures students achieve technical mastery, expressive ability, and performance confidence, while cultivating a lifelong love for music and a meaningful connection to their instrument.
