About Oliver
I’m a friendly, patient and approachable tutor with a degree in Environmental Science and professional experience in environmental consultancy. I enjoy helping people understand things that they initially find difficult, and I believe that building confidence is just as important as getting the right answer.
I have experience tutoring GCSE Maths, as well as mentoring other students and teaching music theory. I aim to make lessons relaxed and supportive, adapting my approach to suit each student and explaining concepts in a clear, straightforward way.
Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for exams, or simply wants to become more confident with Maths, I’m happy to work at their pace and focus on the areas where they need the most support. I can teach students from age 8 upwards, including Maths up to GCSE level.
I’m committed to providing professional, well-prepared lessons while making learning enjoyable and approachable.
In my free time I do sports, write computer code, and get engaged with the local community.

I take a friendly, patient and flexible approach to tutoring, adapting lessons to each student’s needs, ability and learning style. I focus on building understanding and confidence rather than simply teaching students how to get the right answer. I break difficult topics down into manageable steps and use worked examples and practice questions to help students develop their skills.
Lessons are typically one hour long, with flexibility depending on the student’s needs. I am happy to help with specific topics, homework, exam preparation or provide broader support with the GCSE maths curriculum.
I have one year of experience tutoring GCSE Maths while studying for my A Levels, and I have since completed a degree in Environmental Science. While I do not hold a formal tutoring qualification, I have experience explaining mathematical concepts clearly and working patiently with students. I was also a peer mentor for students with autism.
I offer lessons to students aged 8 and above, from primary level through to GCSE. I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
