About Hunter
I've been giving one-on-one lessons for 15 years. I have 10 years in front of a college classroom. My students have been accepted to top tier colleges and graduate schools across the country—and I even have a few former students who are professors themselves. I have helped lots of first generation and historically underrepresented students get into college and get their GED, and I have helped with the transition from community college to 4-year. I have taught hundreds of students in a friendly, high-energy, non-judgemental environment.

I take a student-centered approach to learning, where we create a course of study most effective for your goals. Having reviewed thousands of college applications, I have a good sense of what works and what doesn't. My specialty is on general applications, essays, and specialized applications in the creative arts (visual arts portfolio, musical instrument audition tapes, creative writing and poetry). I can also help with test prep (SAT/ACT) as well as high school/GRE work (graduation requirements, tutoring, homework help).

Details
Rates do not vary based on student's level, but I discount lessons with referrals and offer discounts on supplemental services (reviewing college applications, helping with job applications, visiting and speaking at local schools, etc). Group sessions are also possible, at half price. I will occasionally offer a sliding scale or partial barter if there is an economic need.
