About Kate
I am a primary school teacher, currently co-teaching Year 5/6 composite, as well as the English an an additional language/dialect teacher at Our Lady of Victories, Shortland. I am relocating from Newcastle to Gold Coast at the end of 2020, with a goal to get a part-time teaching position that I can do alongside tutoring.
I have taught across all stages in Primary schools, so am familiar with the Australian curriculum and what is expected of each student at each stage in relation to their learning abilities and achievement. I have been tutoring privately for 8 years, with students ranging from Kindergarten - Year 12 (in the Newcastle, NSW area) in numeracy and literacy.

I use my knowledge and skills from my experience in, and professional development within my teaching positions, and apply these into my tutoring sessions.
I use a variety of assessment and data tracking resources for students of all stages, consistent with the standards of the National Curriculum.I begin with a pre test in the Key Learning Area of fucus, and use the results of the data to highlight the sub strands where the child needs focus. I use this to create specified resources to progressively develop your child within the areas of need.
